Even though the good stuff always tends to be saved for last, a few starter Echoes offer some of the best abilities in the game. They’ll prove their worth by getting you across treacherous terrain or defeating the enemy before you.
So, if you want to breeze through the beginning, here are the best early Echoes to get in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Best Echoes to get early in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
The initial chapters present a vast array of Echoes to collect. We’ll break down the best starter Echoes to get in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, including where to find them.
Keese
As you journey to the Mysterious Rift waypoint, you’ll traverse a Beach Cave between Suthorn Beach and Suthorn Village. Here, you’ll discover the Keese, a valuable Echo that introduces a unique method of traversal. Simply grab it and use it to glide down steep areas. Beyond this, the Keese offers aerial support, making it easier to eliminate those hard-to-reach enemies.
Trampoline
While Zelda possesses many unique abilities, her jump isn’t the best (we still love you, girl). That’s why it’s crucial to acquire the Trampoline in the heart of Suthorn Village. Set it up and jump on the Echo to reach new heights.
Ignizol
The Ignizol, with its fiery nature, quickly became one of my favorite Echoes in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. It engulfs anything in its path in flames, whether enemies or grass and crates. This fire is also a useful light source, primarily for various torches. You’ll find the Ignizol in the first cave at Suthorn Village. However, don’t get too close to it, or you may get burned.
Peahat
When traveling to the eastern side of Suthorn Village, you’ll encounter a cave with two torches. Enter it to discover the Peahat, a plant creature with a powerful spinning attack. The attack’s range spreads wide, almost covering the entire battlefield. The Peahat can even cross bodies of water and hit enemies up high, perfect for any situation.
Strandtula
Like the trampoline, the Strandtula gives you the power to reach higher ground. Its thread acts as a rope for you to climb, clinging to the ceiling above. While its attacks are relatively restrictive, the Strandtula can still get the job done with enough hits. However, you do need to watch out for fiery enemies since they’ll be weak against them.
To find the Strandtula, progress through the main story until you reach the Suthorn Ruins. Since the thread is flammable, you can use Ignizol’s attacks to collect it quickly.
Sword Moblin
You’ll encounter a few Moblins during your Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom adventures. One, in particular, is the Sword Moblin, who is a bit faster than the Spear variant. Thanks to its robust sword, the monster proves to be a decent bodyguard. But, if you need a long-range attack, stick with the Spear one instead.
The Moblins roam everywhere in Hyrule, making them easy to find. For a set location, go to Suthorn Prairie to discover a whole bunch of them.
Crow
Travel to the Gerudo Desert to obtain the Crow, a creature capable of stealing Rupees. If you are ever short on money, whip out this bad boy to get some easy Rupee farming. The bird also excels with opponents stationed up top, similar to the Spear Moblin.
Soft Bed
For the ultimate healing ability, unlock the Soft Bed at the Tough Mango Plant Lab. It’ll heal Zelda much faster than the Old Bed, allowing you to regain hearts from resting. However, you may need to complete The Mysterious Rifts first to access this area.
