Not content with how they were represented in the PlayStation 2 action-RPG Yakuza, the real life Yakuza got their panties in a bunch and decided to strike back! How? By stealing a bunch ‘o PlayStation 3s, that’s how! Those little bastards took 180 of the precious black box:

Yesterday in Japan, a group of organised thieves managed to steal 180 PlayStation 3s from a luggage warehouse in Ibaraki prefecture. The machines, which come in boxes of two and are stacked in palettes of 30 boxes each, are worth about 9.5 million yen in total (some $82,600 at the current exchange rate). The boxes were noticed missing at 1:30pm after having been confirmed at 9:00am the same day. Local police are guessing, with the frequency of luggage movement at the warehouse, it’s likely the machines were stealthily loaded onto the thieves’ truck.

Lesson learned: EA now peeing pants over Godfather games.
