XDefiant: Best Double Barrel loadout

Is this XDefiant or Doom at this point?

When crafting up a build in XDefiant, most people tend to focus on similar weapons. You’re either building out an assault rifle loadout for the sake of that versatility, or a sniper loadout that can efficiently delete your enemies from long range. However, it’s a good idea not to sleep on some of the other weapons, including a particularly great shotgun. Here’s the best loadout for the Double Barrel in XDefiant.

The best attachments and gear for the Double Barrel in XDefiant

The Double Barrel is a strong powerhouse in short and even medium-range thanks to its innately high firepower. I used it a ton back in the betas, and its ability to one-shot enemies is very reliable. This weapon is best used as a hip-fire option to fire as quickly as possible when sprinting into the enemy backline. As such, these attachments help support that playstyle:

  • Rear Grip: Quick Draw Grip
  • Stock: Lightweight Stock

You may notice we’re not using the Choke barrel here and there’s a good reason for that. While the bonuses it provides to short and mid-range effectiveness are nice, it suffers from a massive hit to Sprint-Shoot Time. Since we want to use the weapon to run up on enemies, taking the Choke is a horrible idea. Otherwise, the Rear Grip and Stock provide easier movement and Sprint-Shoot Time.

Moving over to your Secondary Weapon, you should take the 686 Magnum as a potential long-range option. Given its use case, you should run it with the Muzzle Brake, Red Dot or Reflex Sight, and the Grip Tape. For Device, we’re looking at either the Frag Grenade or Flashbang depending on personal preference.

Which faction pairs well with the Double Barrel?

By far the best faction you can run with the Double Barrel is the Libertad with the BioVida Boost. You’re going to be in the enemy’s face a lot which means you’ll be taking a ton of damage, so being able to retreat and heal is a huge advantage. If that isn’t your style, Echelon with the Intel Suit can help you get a sense of your surroundings.
