Developer Kuro Games has revealed its plans for the future of Wuthering Waves, including updates adding story skips, the companion story for Yinlin, and rewards thanking players for their support during the game’s launch.
Wuthering Waves launched this week to hundreds of eager fans who were more than ready to jump into another premium open world game with collectible characters and gacha mechanics similar to Genshin Impact. While it had its ups and downs with errors to start with, the game soon settled down and welcomed players into its world. Now with launch hiccups behind the team, Kuro Games has relayed what it intends to do to update the game with future features and fixes.
Kuro Games will update UI and combat in Wuthering Waves and reward players for their support with in-game items
Kuro Games is keen to reward players for their patience while Wuthering Waves experienced issues around its launch. To do this, it’s giving all players 10 free Radiant Tide on May 25 as long as they’ve hit Union Level 2 or above.
On Twitter, the company also noted that it would be giving players a free custom 5-Star Standard Resonator Voucher. This will be issued as part of the upcoming Resonator Giveback Convene Event to apologize for the subpar experience some layers had with the Beginner’s Choice Convene. You should receive your voucher in your in-game mail on May 26, 2024.
The skip function is the first feature Kuro Games wants to improve in Wuthering Waves. This is based on a lot of the feedback from players who insist there are “not enough skippable scenes” and that the UI isn’t readable enough for them to notice and use.
The skip function UI will be redesigned, and the number of scenes that can be skipped early on in the story will be increased to allow players to blast through early scenes faster. There will also be a better system for skipping character dialogue where it pops up for those who don’t want to sit through it.
The developer also says that Yinlin’s companion story is coming soon. Yinlin won’t be in the game until June 2024, but players have been using an exploit to unlock her early, prompting this response from Kuro Games.
Kuro Games’ second priority is optimizing the combat experience in Wuthering Waves. Players have reported a lack of visual feedback and generally unsatisfying combat with enemies and environmental objects. The team will work on improving this so combat feels better both on screens and using controllers, for which players desperately want customizable layouts.
