Who put this Superhot in my Fallout: New Vegas?!

When you think about it, Superhot and Fallout: New Vegas are already pretty similar. They’re both first-person shooters that play around with time-bending mechanics (Superhot has its everything, while Fallout has VATS), and they’re both set in awfully grim worlds that’re happy to see you die horribly.

So why am I so surprised to see a New Vegas mod that introduces Superhot’s central premise?

Currently a work in progress by modder Xilandro, New Vegas’ SUPERHOT mod makes time move only when you do, and enemies will gib ridiculously when they die. While that could get annoying for some of the more story-focused parts of the game, in combat it looks fantastic. Bullets flying all over the place and getting deflected by swords before some New California Republic soldiers explode into wonderful clouds of red. Glorious.

The only ETA given for the mod is “in a few days”, so you won’t have to wait too long before you can get your hands on it. I’m looking forward to this one, because I’ve been trying to find a reason to go back to New Vegas after Fallout 4 disappointed me, and it sounds like this might just be it.
