Who is Lasso Man in Lethal Company

Lethal Company's Slender Man?

It’s pretty common for successful games to eventually inspire urban legends. Lethal Company, Steam’s new horror megahit, has just followed its natural course and spawned its first elusive cryptid. I’m talking about what fans are calling “Lasso Man”, a new entity that has apparently shown up to haunt a few players.

Is Lasso Man real? Can he show up in your game? Can he kill you in-game? What about IRL? It’s time to go all Mythbusters on this thing.

What does Lasso Man in Lethal Company look like?

Lasso Man seems like the result of a living red yarn line attempting to gain the form of a human being. He looks like a cross between a stick figure from the heyday of Newgrounds flash animations and the main characters from Unravel gone awry.

What is Lasso Man, and is he even real?

There are plenty of videos on YouTube that make an interesting case for the existence of this entity. Still, we also had some degree of that back in the days of the bigfoot hunts in GTA: San Andreas, and we all know how that went. Video evidence is not enough. Luckily for everyone, the modders behind “Brutal Company”, one of the best Lethal Company mods out there, have done the sleuthing for us. They found the strange creature inside the game’s files, and created an in-game event called “Lasso Man is real”, which allows him to show up to anyone with the mod installed.

So yeah, he’s there, inside every game, waiting to hurt players. You’re only lucky that he’s locked away and only comes out of his digital prison through modding.

Is Lasso Man dangerous?

In short, no. He runs after players and causes some sort of screen distortion, but won’t kill them — he won’t even try to tie them up. At best, Lasso Man may startle seasoned players who expect no more surprises out of the game. It’s possible that Lasso Man acts this way due to being either an unfinished asset that the developers gave up on or something that will show up in a future update. He’s already gathered a lot of community attention, so he’ll likely make an official entrance one day — when you least expect.

You can now look for Lasso Man in Lethal Company on PC via Steam.
