Where’s our Assassin’s Creed Syndicate review?

Let me tell you, friend

It’s very early in the morning and some Assassin’s Creed Syndicate reviews just landed. Except ours didn’t. So, what gives? Are we the hip slackers who are too cool to turn our homework in on time? Is this our half-hearted apology?

No, that’s not the case. For whatever reason, we don’t have a copy of Syndicate yet. Ubisoft doesn’t appear to be too selective in handing them out, as Twitch has been filled with people playing it all week. Maybe there’s a grudge being held over the 5.5 I gave Assassin’s Creed Rogue last year. If that’s it, well, oh well — that’s the nature of the beast.

The game will supposedly show up in our mailbox today. Hopefully that’s true because we’re already behind schedule. Expect some initial thoughts from me in the near future and then a full review to follow shortly afterward. I’ll probably spend the entirety of this weekend in London, and not in the way that would net me 100 Facebook Likes.

As always, we like to preach consumer advocacy. You won’t get our full opinion as soon as Syndicate launches, but seek out someone else’s before rushing to stores — someone you trust. That might be another outlet, a streamer, a bunch of people on reddit, a friend…whatever. Just make sure that you’re not paying for a dud because games are fairly expensive and lord knows there are enough good ones that deserve your money.
