Where to get Natron in FFXIV

Jesse, it's time to cook... What? I'm talking about Natron!

Crafting in Final Fantasy XIV can be a huge money-saver and a good side hustle. Even at a low level, there are a few recipes that you should memorize which, hand in hand with your Disciple of the Land classes, can help bring in some extra Gil when you need it or simply aid you in crafting other recipes. Natron is one of them — here’s everything you need to know about it.

What is Natron?

Natron is a reagent used for crafting at all levels. Its own recipe is simple and only includes two easy-to-source ingredients (Effervescent Water and Rock salt). Once crafted, Natron becomes an ingredient in other, much more lucrative recipes. We’ll go more into that later, but first, let’s look at Natron’s base ingredients.

Where to find Effervescent Water

Effervescent Water can be gathered by Miners at level 24 or above. To find it, head to South Shroud via the Quarrymill Aetheryte and head West. The picture above shows the area you need to be in.

Where to find Rock Salt

Rock Salt can be gathered by Miners at level 12 or above. To find it, head to Western Thanalan via the Black Brush Station Aetheryte and head South West. Again, the area you need to be in is shown in the picture above.

Natron can be crafted by Alchemists once you reach level 25 with the class. The ingredients are as follows:

  • One Rock Salt
  • One Effervescent Water
  • Two Water Shards

It’s a very simple craft and doesn’t take much more than a few basic syntheses. The progress needed in order to successfully complete the Natron recipe is 44 and if you want to produce guaranteed HQ Natron, the quality needed is 528. At the time of writing, HQ Natron sells for around 200 Gil more than NQ Natron on Goblin.

Once you’ve crafted Natron, you can use the “Quick Synthesis” function to craft up to 99 of them without having to actually do anything. You can set your character up in a quiet corner of your preferred area, and, as long as they have sufficient ingredients, they will simply craft away in the background.

What is Natron used for?

Natron is used in recipes for a few different crafting classes. Some of these recipes are sought after for crafting gear and furniture, so Natron is definitely a recipe worth knowing.
