The Way of Winter brings fresh challenges in Once Human, and Hot Rock Ore is an essential resource to find if you want to survive the harsh nature of the cold.

As you explore the cold lands, you’ll want to withstand the drop in your body temperature, and Heatium is extremely useful for that. It allows you to keep yourself warm for an hour, and you can then explore the land for different resources without having to bother about freezing yourself to death. Once you’ve advanced more inside the game, the Hot Rock Ore will have even more uses, so let’s find out the best way of gathering them on your adventures.

Best Hot Rock Ore locations in Once Human

There are three great places to look for Hot Rock Ore in the icy lands.

• Ember Forge: This is the best place in my books to go for finding Hot Rock Ore. Here are the coordinates of this location (-5186, 4394). This place will allow you to mine plenty of ore quickly, so make sure to check this spot out first.
• Snake Eye Pass: If you take this route to approach Sunshroud Cave, you’ll come across Hot Rock Ore nodes along the way. There are deposits of other resources as well, and you’ll also come across enemies to dispose of.
• Fire Throat Fortress: The Fire Throat Fortress is located in the southern part of the map. While there are plenty of nodes at this location, be careful of vulture attacks.

How to obtain Hot Rock Ore in Once Human

While the mining process is similar to how you get other resources, you’ll need to be careful. The Hot Rock Ore can do substantial damage due to its heat, which will damage your health. Now, I have seen a few members in the community just blasting a node with Molotovs and collecting the ore. I prefer using Frost Grenades to simply lower the temperatures of the nodes, which makes it easy for you to collect.

As I mentioned earlier, you’ll be able to use this ore to create Heatium and keep yourself warm. As an alternative, the Hot Rock Ore is also required to build Thermal Towers, which are essential for your long-term survivability. Hence, make sure to spare some time to gather these resources whenever you log into Once Human.
