If you’ve just set sail to Tural in Final Fantasy XIV and you’re lamenting the lack of flying ability, you’ll likely be ready to make use of your trusty Aether Compass. However, the Aether Compass itself isn’t where you might expect it to be.
Where to find the Aethercompass in FFXIV
If you’re looking for the Aether Compass, you’ll need to open up the Duty menu from your red icon bar (the second option from the left) and select Collection. Here, you’ll find the Aether Compass.
How to use the Aethercompass in FFXIV
If you’re hunting for Aether Currents, I strongly recommend putting the Aether Compass on one of your Hotbars. All you need to do is drag it from the Collection window onto any available slot.
Once this is done, you can click on the Aether Compass at any point, and a notification will appear on screen telling you how far you are from the nearest Aether Current, and which direction you need to head.
If you use your Aether Compass in an area where no Aether Currents are available to unlock, you’ll receive a message saying “The compass does not detect any nearby currents.”
