Where to find Red and White Striped Capybara in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Best of luck if you work weekend shifts.

Capybara are a critter you’ll find as part of Disney Dreamlight Valley’s A Rift in Time expansion pack. Although some are often around, like the Classic and Toon capybaras, the Red and White Striped species is far rarer, only appearing once a week for six hours.

Red and White Striped Capybara location and schedule

Red and White Striped capybara appear in Wild Tangle’s Lagoon biome from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. If you try to enter the Lagoon at any other time on Saturday or during the afternoon on a weekday, you won’t spot this capybara at all. In short, you only have six hours a week to find it during this brief timespan.

Before discovering this region, you’ll need to own the A Rift in Time expansion pack and advance far enough into the story to complete Ancient’s Landing and unlock most of its biomes. From here, you’ll access the bridge leading to the Wild Tangle’s Grasslands biome. It’s then a matter of unlocking The Grove and, lastly, The Lagoon. You need around 20,000 Mist for every biome, so be prepared to complete a lot of Dreamlight Duties.

Once you unlock The Lagoon and enter on a Saturday between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., there’s a chance you’ll spot this rare capybara roaming around. If you don’t, you may have to leave and return a few minutes later, take an hour-long questing break before trying again, or search every inch of the biome until you spot it. They can hide in some peculiar places, so make sure to look behind every plant, furniture, and tree you can see until you’re certain you’ve checked the entire biome.

What is Red and White Striped Capybara’s favorite food?

A capybara’s favorite food is Cabbage. You can purchase cabbage seeds from Goofy Stalls in The Wild Tangle, requiring one full hour to grow. You’ll need to revisit the Red and White Striped capybara two to three times each week and feed it some cabbage to unlock it as a companion, so make sure to save some time during the weekend for that.
