Where to find Purifying Crystal Tear in Elden Ring

The Purifying Crystal Tear is a must-have item in Elden Ring if you are to quell the Lord of Blood successfully. Mohg is one of the toughest bosses in the base game and must be beaten to move on to the eventual release of Shadow of the Erdtree.

Where to find the Purifying Crystal Tear in Elden Ring

This item is acquired by defeating Eleonora, Violet Bloody Finger at the Second Church of Marika. The closest Site of Grace to get here is from the Altus Highway Junction. From there, head northward on the lower cliffside area until you get there. However, you can’t just make it to that area and she’ll be there.

In order to encounter Eleonora, you have to progress through Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s quest line far enough. You initially meet him at the Seaside Ruins back in Limgrave. From here, follow these quest steps while not attacking or killing Yura in the process:

• Defeat the the invader, Nerijus at Murkwater Cave.
• Reach Raya Lucaria and summon the invader, Ravenmount Assassin near the Main Academy Gate. 
• Talk to Yura after defeating the Assassin. Exhaust his dialogue. If he isn’t there, there should be a Nagakiba Katana in his place.

After Yura leaves Raya Lucaria, he’ll be at the Second Church of Marika. He’ll fight alongside you as Eleonora appears. Don’t worry if you or Yura die in the fight. As long as Eleonora is ultimately defeated, she’ll drop the Purifying Crystal Tear and the very strong Eleonora’s Poleblade.

With this quest now concluded, you can finish the White Mask Varre quest without getting constantly killed by Mohg’s blood moves.

How to use the Purifying Crystal Tear

Upon getting this item, you can now use it as part of your Wondrous Physick Mix. It’s recommended to pair this with a Crimson Crystal Tear or a Crimsonburst Crystal Tear so it doubles as an additional Flask of Crimson Tears. 

The purpose of using the Purifying Crystal Tear is so you can negate the devastating Blood Loss effects that happen during the battle with Mohg, Lord of Blood. Once his health goes below a certain threshold, he’ll start to chant “Nihil! Nihil! Nihil!”  

You have to consume the Wondrous Physick with the Crystal Tear before he casts this to avoid being killed by all the effects during and after the chant.
