Where to find Gyro Ball TM 180 in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Curl up and get ready for battle!

As far as the new TMs in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask go, TM 180 (Gyro Ball) is pretty specific. It’s a Steel-Type attack that hits harder the slower your monster is than your opponent, which is… well, niche. Historically, Steel-Type Pokemon like Ferrothorn that have incredibly low Speed stats have made the best use of this move. But of our current roster of monsters right now in Scarlet & Violet, only a few Pokemon can really utilize it.

That said, The Indigo Disk DLC will bring a new wave of monsters to the game, and one of those could be a great Gyro Ball candidate. So whether you need TM 180 now to learn Gyro Ball or want to prepare for the future, this one’s well worth getting. Here’s how to find it.

Where to find Gyro Ball in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?

So, it’s important to note that this TM is brand new to the game as of The Teal Mask, so your first step is to ensure you have purchased and installed that expansion. Once you’re in Kitakami, fast-travel to the Crystal Pool atop Oni Mountain. Follow the path down the mountain, through the red entryway and down the steps, but only part way. Take a hard right and navigate to a small mound straight ahead, where you’ll find the bright, shining Pokeball containing your sought-after treasure.

How to craft the Gyro Ball TM 180 in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Teal Mask

But let’s say you don’t want to go hunting for this TM. Fortunately, you can craft it if you have enough League Points and the correct Materials. You can craft TMs at the TM Machine, which can be found right next to the Pokemon Center outside the Community Center in Mossui Town. But, of course, nothing in life is free. Here’s what you’ll need to craft this TM:

  • 10,000 League Points
  • 4x Nosepass Fragments
  • 2x Bronzor Fragments

It’s not too difficult (now) to find these materials if you don’t have enough. I say ‘now’ because Nosepass is one of the Pokemon added to Scarlet & Violet as of The Teal Mask. You can find them in locations around Kitakami, such as the Kitakami Wilds, Paradise Barrens, and Oni Mountain.

As for Bronzor, you can find it in areas such as East Province Area Two, South Province Area Two, or South Province Area Three in Paldea. However, you can also find it at the Chilling Waterhead, the Crystal Pool, or the Fellhorn Gorge in Kitakami. Defeat enough Nosepass and Bronzor, and you’ll soon have enough materials to craft TM 180 Gyro Ball!
