Early in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk, you’ll find a not-so-straightforward story objective to overcome. Shortly after entering Blueberry Academy’s Terarium, you’ll need to find an Alolan form Pokemon in the Coastal Region. This may be tricky if you never played Pokemon Sun & Moon and don’t know which Pokemon to catch!
Fortunately, you can find Alolan Form Pokemon relatively close to where you accepted that quest. To give you a hint, you’ll notice a trainer nearby that has a textbox above his head that mentions Alolan form Pokemon.
Talk to him to engage in a battle, and you’ll face Alolan forms of Grimer, Diglett, and Exeggutor. Winning this encounter will add these Pokemon to your Pokedex, letting you reference their locations.
Fortunately, you won’t have to search too long to find these Pokemon, as they are all lurking relatively nearby. That said, to complete this task quickly, I recommend going to the spot below.
All around this location, I found Alolan Grimer, Muk, and Exeggutor within a short period of time. While I did notice Alolan Grimer around other spots too, I’d still say the above location is the most reliable.
That said, note that Alolan Grimer and Muk may use the move Memento, which KOs themselves instantly. In other words, try to catch them in as few moves as possible.
Once you have at least one Alolan Pokemon on hand, return to your instructor. Talking with him will immediately open your Pokemon box, so select your new Alolan Pokemon to complete the objective. That’s all there is to it!
