Where to find all Golden Keys in Cat Quest 3 – All locations

The ultimate treasure hunt.

Golden Keys found in Cat Quest 3 can only mean one thing: They lead to golden treasure (yarrgh!)! I mean, obviously. But first, you’ll need to know all the Golden Key locations in Cat Quest 3 and finally take them to a specific location.

There are five Golden Keys in Cat Quest 3. You’ll know you’re on the trail of a key when a golden coin suddenly avoids your greedy ambitions and floats off to parts unknown. Following it leads to a treasure box that rewards in gold coins and a single Golden Key that unlocks a floor in a fortress called the Golden Tower. You can make your way to the tower early, but it’s best to gather all the available keys first.

All Golden Key locations in Cat Quest 3

Finding the correct golden coin for a Golden Key in Cat Quest 3 is a bit of a crapshoot normally. The game world is peppered with random coins for the takin’, but only a handful lead you to greater treasure. Here’s where you can find them all.

Golden Key 2 – Second Floor

The first Golden Key you’re most likely to stumble across is the one that unlocks the second floor of the Golden Tower. To find it, head to the northmost point of the main Purvanna island, on a beach just west of the Golden Tower.

The coin is at the end of a set of footprints and just left of a palm tree. Get near it, and it’ll start floating across the water heading south. Follow it with your ship or in your floaty (they’re not very fast) and avoid the spike traps. It stops at a beach just northeast of Pawt Purvanna.

Approach the key’s final stopping point, and it will pop into gold coins and a chest. Open the chest for Golden Key – Second Floor.

Golden Key 3 – Third Floor

The coin for Golden Key 3 is southeast of Purvanna along an island chain. Head toward the coordinates (46, 10) between the islands of Purtigua and the Twin Islands.

Look for the coin below to begin your latest key-hunting journey:

The coin guides you west toward Long Island. Eventually, it will land on a beach on the eastern part of Long Island and dispense a chest with the key.

Golden Key 4 – Fourth Floor

The Golden Key for the Fourth Floor is far, far to the northwest, in an area that shouldn’t be touched by furry paws until you’re at least level 40. Travel to the small island on the southwest section of the Sunset Islands.

The coin you’re looking for is the one furthest to the north.

Chase it west until it stops on the maze-like island near the blurry, pixelated castle in the center.

Golden Key 5 – Fifth Floor

The Golden Key for the Fifth Floor is the most dangerous one to get. You’ll need to travel southwest to the corner of the map to Furggy Island, home of the Pi-rats and plenty of level-60 undead foes that constantly respawn.

Make your way to the center of the island. To the south of the mountain is the golden coin you need.

Luckily, it doesn’t take you far. Dodge the enemies shooting fireballs and follow the coin as it moves west to a small area where two palm trees stand alone.

There, you’ll get the key to the fifth floor of the Golden Tower.

Wait, are we missing something?

Where is Golden Key 1 – First Floor?

Ah, right. There is a coin that takes you to a chest for the first Golden Key, but things go a bit awry.

To find the coin, sail west until you reach the furthest western side of the Twilight Isles. Look for a lone palm tree with a coin at its base. This is the coin that’ll take you to your reward (so to speak).

The coin travels north before going east along the northern part of the island. It’ll make its landing near the center of the north-most island of the Twilight Isles.

But when you open the chest… it’s empty! Your first mate, Captain Cappey, mentions that the key must have been pilfered. So, where did it go?

Where to use the Golden Keys in Cat Quest 3 – The Golden Tower

Once you have four Golden Keys, go to the Golden Tower on the northern end of the main Purvanna island. Knock down the gates and enter the dungeon.

After heading inside, a lone Pi-rat soon follows, proclaiming that he has the Golden Key you’re looking for. Defeat him in combat, and the Golden Tower is yours to plunder.

Climb the ladders and open each gate for precious gold booty. You’ll also get pieces to a Golden Armor set.

The boss at the end rewards you with the Golden Shield weapon, which causes damaging gold coins to pop out and hurt enemies for every successful block.
