While the Sphinx featured pretty heavily in Dragonās Dogma 2ās promotional material, in the game itself, the creature is illusive. Youād be forgiven for missing it entirely. However, if youāre set on finding it, hereās where it is.
The Sphinx is located in a place called Mountain Shrine which is, appropriately, in the mountains northeast of Checkpoint Rest Town. Getting there can be a bit tricky.
There are essentially two routes you can take to Mountain Shrine. If youāre coming in from the west, youāll want to go through the Ancient Battleground. Behind the keep (which you get to by going through the keep; not around) thereās a cave called Worldsend Cavern. Go through that any youāll emerge east of the ancient battleground and near Shrine Corridor. Follow that and keep climbing the stairs and before too long, youāll reach the Sphinx.
If youāre coming from the east, you can save time by going through the Misty Swamp. While your map wonāt help you in this area, itās actually rather small when you fully explore it. On its west side, thereās a campsite in a little abandoned village. West of that is an extremely rugged path leading up the mountain. Keep climbing and eventually, youāll reach the shrine.
To speak with the Sphinx, step onto the podium in front of it.
Where to find the Sphinxās second location
Once you complete the Sphinxās three riddles in A Game of Wits, it will fly off. However, thatās not where things end, because it simply will have taken up residence in another location. Before you go, if you dropped a portcrystal, youāll probably want to pick it up.
The second location of the Sphinx. This time, itās west of Checkpoint Rest Town in a place called Frontier Shrine. To get there, you need to descend to the dry riverbed that borders Checkpoint Rest Town, then follow it west. Eventually, it will lead to a cave, which you then follow to a misty area where the Sphinx has parked. It has new riddles for you.
Just be warned that Frontier Shrine is found beyond some tough monster fights, including a Chimera, so tread carefully.
