Where are the power cells to fix the comms computer on Vectera in Starfield

Early on in Starfield after joining Constellation, you’re tasked with hunting down Barrett. Upon returning to Vectera, Lin will inform you that Heller was taken by pirates and Barrett went after him. Unfortunately, the only way to know where they went is by checking the data on the communications computer which is not working.

Once you check the comms computer you’ll see it’s missing three power cells. Finding these power cells will be enough to get the data you need, so it’s important you find them.

Where to find the first power cell on Vectera

First off, don’t worry. All three power cells can be found in the area you are currently in. If you look in the structure you are currently in, the same one with the comms computer, you will find the first Emergency Power Cell on a shelf.

Pick it up and head outside to find the second power cell.

Once outside, speak to the mining supervisor Lin. Tell Lin you need power cells to activate the comms computer, and she will hand one over.

Now you just need one more. The third and final power cell can be located in the other structure here at the outpost.

Finally, the last power cell is actually in the structure you woke up in after interacting with the Artifact at the beginning of Starfield. 

Head inside and look on the shelf in the first room and you will find the final emergency power cell.

Where to put the power cells and fix the comms computer in Starfield

Now that you know where the power cells to fix the comms computer in Starfield are, it’s time to head back to the first structure to activate them. Once inside you should see three power receptacles to the right.

Before you can activate the comms computer you need to place one of the three power cells into each of the power receptacles seen here. Once you have done so, the comms computer will turn back on and your quest objective will update to Find a clue to Barrett’s location.

Head back to the comms computer and interact with the Systems Array. From here you can check the emergency transmission to find Barrett’s location.
