The update will change the base game from eFootball 2024 to the next version, and yes, Konami is dropping the year from the name. Unlike EA FC 25, you won’t need to download a separate client. Instead, you have to get the update once it’s available on your chosen platform. While the football simulator will continue to be free-to-play, there will be some changes, and let’s take a look at the maintenance schedules first.

eFootball v4.0.0 maintenance timings

In preparation for the major update, Konami will be performing routine maintenance. Usually, such maintenance tends to last a few hours. The upcoming maintenance, however, will be more extensive, lasting for nearly 24 hours.

As per the official schedule, the maintenance will begin on September 11 at 10 a.m. UTC. Unless there’s a delay, the maintenance will be over at 8 a.m. UTC on September 12. All online services will be unavailable during the maintenance, but you’ll be able to enjoy offline content like Authentic Team and Training will be available.

eFootball v4.0.0 update features

Some significant changes are expected as part of the upcoming update as Konami approaches another big season. The developers have already revealed a few new gameplay features on social media.

  • Finesse Dribble, which appears like a type of move where you first slow down to use a sudden burst of pace in the opposite direction.
  • Improvement in Physical Contact stat, which will make all the difference in tight spaces and duels.
  • Introduction of Smart Assist, which looks like some form of AI-based support system for beginners.

We will have detailed coverage about them once the update goes live and the features are tested.

eFootball v4.0.0 bundles

The new season brings fresh microtransactions. If you don’t mind spending a few dollars to get a head start, you could pick up the Lionel Messi and Neymar Ambassador packages. These packages will be available in Standard and Deluxe versions.

While the prices of the packages haven’t been revealed, each of them includes ten special cards and an epic Neymar/Lionel Messi version. Additionally, both the Standard and Deluxe versions will consist of eFootball coins, in-game goodies, and more.

The packages are likely to be available for purchase once the seasonal update is complete.
