Baldur’s Gate 3’s Missing Shipment quest harnesses a mysterious item known as the “Iron Flask.” By the looks of it, the flask isn’t exactly welcoming through its sinister red face appearance, but there are a few ways to go about it.
Using the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3
First and foremost, you should know what is inside the Iron Flask, which holds a deadly Spectator enemy. If you unleash the creature, you’re in for a formidable fight that could result in your team’s demise. Now that that’s out of the way, here are a few things you can do with the Iron Flask in Baldur’s Gate 3:
- Investigate it with a dice roll
- Open it and fight the Spectator
- Give it to Zarys at Zhentarim Hideout
- Use it against enemies
- Feed it to Gale
To better prepare you for the wild beast, investigate the Iron Flask first to receive more information about it. If you’re a risk-taker, fight it head-on for an extra challenge and some XP. The monster excels in paralyzing and fear-status effects that can halt a character’s movement. Fortunately, long-distance strikes, like arrows and magic, work best.
But, since the fight can be pretty brutal, you can use the flask as an offensive tactic against foes. For this, throw the Iron Flask near an enemy group and watch all the madness unfold. This technique keeps the opponent off your back, and it’s just plain fun to watch them struggle with the Spectator.
Another showdown unfolds when giving the item to Zarys for the Missing Shipment quest. Luckily, this fight isn’t too difficult, allowing you to loot the Zhentarim Hideout. The Iron Flask may also be used to satisfy Gale’s Arcane Hunger. You may not have reached this part of the story yet, but the object can come in handy for this character in due time.
