A very strong aspect for the right build
With 114 Aspects inĀ Diablo 4, you have many options when trying to build your character. While most Aspects are class-specific, the Edgemaster’s Aspect is actually useable for all classes. As a Legendary Aspect, you would think it’s great for a lot of builds. However, most classes don’t really have a build that can make use of this Legendary Aspect.
What is the Edgemaster’s Aspect in Diablo 4?
The Edgemaster’s Aspect is a Legendary Aspect primarily used in several Barbarian builds. It is an offensive enhancement that causes skills to deal increased damage based on the amount of Primary Resource available when the respective skill is used. The more you have, the more bonus damage your skills will deal. The full benefit of this Aspect is achieved when you are full on your Primary Resource.
With the Barbarian, Rage is their Primary Resource. As you can imagine, this can be very powerful since with certain builds you can quickly reach max Rage.
For leveling, this Aspect can be very strong for Barbarian Bleed builds. Since most of the skills in this build are actually Resource Generators, you very often have a lot of Rage making this Aspect increase your damage.
Once you’re Level 50+, the Edgemaster’s Aspect is also strong for Whirlwind builds, especially the Vortex one. If you can properly manage your Rage, you can use this Aspect to greatly increase your damage when you pop Whirlwind.
How do you get the Edgemaster’s Aspect inĀ Diablo 4?
The easiest and most guaranteed way to unlock this Aspect is to complete the Oldstones dungeon. This dungeon can be found in The Downs in the Scosglen region. This will add the Legendary Aspect to your Codex of Power, allowing you to then add it to your equipment manually. However, when you manually add an Aspect this way, you will always receive the lowest value roll on the modifier. In this case, that means this Aspect will increase damage by up to 10%.
The other way to get it would be by getting a Legendary item drop that already has the Legendary Aspect on it. If the item is good for you, then you can simply use it. If not, you can extract the Aspect off of the item, therefore sacrificing the item. Doing so allows you to then imprint the Aspect onto an item better for your build. You can only Imprint each extracted Aspect once, so you would need to extract it again off another Legendary item in order to imprint it again. Choose wisely.
An important note about Edgemaster’s Aspect
As of late night on June 9, Blizzard has disabled the Edgemaster’s Aspect, as well as Aspect of Berserk Ripping. As such, items that have these affixes on them will not implement the Aspect effect until they have been re-enabled. It appears they are not happy with the current balance of these Aspects and will be looking to change them in some way.
Blizzard has indicated they will let us all know when they have been re-enabled, and we will be sure to post the update here once that update is live.
