When players begin their journey into Cyberpunk 2077‘s sprawling Night City, they’re faced with what appears to be an important choice during character creation. The lifepath determines V’s starting point in the game and according to the in-game description, can impact certain events and dialogue options. So, which one is the best?
Which lifepath should you choose in Cyberpunk 2077?
Spoilers, none of the lifepaths mean much of anything. The only real impact is where V starts their journey in Night City. The rest are simply contextual dialogue choices that have absolutely no meaningful impact. Live free, chooms!
Corpo
Corpo V is working as a member of Arasaka’s counter-intelligence. In a world where corporations run everything, this V is in the very heart of the beast. Their journey spits them out in the middle of Night City, the City Center District.
Nomad
Nomads are all about feeling the dust-heavy wind blow through what is likely some greasy hair. As a member of one of the various “families,” V knows how to survive in the harshest conditions. This lifepath kicks off in the Badlands.
Streetkid
As for who V ultimately becomes, it could be argued that streetkid fits the best overall, but Cyberpunk 2077 does an amazing job at fitting each origin in at the right moments and giving them a few brief moments in the spotlight. The streetkid lifepath puts V in Heywood.
It’s disappointing that despite what CD Projekt Red told everyone, lifepaths didn’t have more of an impact. The developer broke a lot of promises when Cyberpunk 2077 was released and it was a lesson that a lot of others in the gaming industry took to heart. However, things have really turned around for the dystopian RPG. Despite the horrors that lurk around every corner in Night City, things have never looked better for the franchise.
