What Genshin character are you based on your zodiac?

Do the patterns in the stars tell us who we are?

There are a surprising number of Genshin Impact constellations that align well with the 12 zodiac signs in Western astrology. Which character are you based on your star sign? Letā€™s take a look at the characters whose constellations or personality align with our real-world stars.

I assigned characters to star signs primarily based on their in-game constellation shapes. For star signs that donā€™t have a clear Teyvat counterpart, I picked a character who I thought embodied the associated personality traits. Genshin characters also have canon birthdays, but I disregarded these, since we donā€™t know how Teyvatā€™s calendar correlates with the stars in our world.

Aries – Dori

Aries is described as ā€œvivacious, enthusiastic, childish, and a bit selfish.ā€ No one in the current Genshin Impact roster demonstrates these characteristics more than our little gremlin merchant Dori. She is a go-getter who built herself a trade empire from the ground up, exemplifying the leadership skills of a true Aries. Her constellation Magicae Lucerna (ā€œmagic lampā€) doesnā€™t have much to do with rams, but I feel she deserves this spot based on personality alone.

Taurus – Itto/Candace

Ittoā€™s constellation is quite literally called Taurus Iracundus, or ā€œangry bull.ā€ Heā€™s about as stubborn as it gets, and though heā€™s not as materialistic as most Tauruses, Itto fits the description well enough for me to choose him to represent Taurus. Candace is the other half of Taurus, even though her in-game constellation doesnā€™t match. Sheā€™s fiercely protective of her hometown, and a more grounded interpretation of the Taurus personality type.

Gemini – Traveler

No one in Genshin Impact has a constellation of twins, but Aether and Lumine are twin siblings. Their constellations are Viator and Viatrix, the masculine and feminine words for ā€œtraveler.ā€ They are intelligent and restless, always on the move. The main difference between the Travelers and real Geminis is that the Travelers rarely say a word, while Geminis can be quite talkative.

Cancer – Thoma

Thomaā€™s constellation is Rubeum Scutum, meaning ā€œred shield.ā€ While that has little to do with crabs, Thoma is dedicated to his family and taking care of his home, which are traits typical of a Cancer. He is compassionate and well-liked as the “fixer” of Inazuma.

Leo – Lyney

Lyney adores the spotlight, making him a natural Leo. Heā€™s charismatic and charming, with a flair for the dramatic. Lyneyā€™s constellation is Felis Fuscus, or ā€œblack cat.ā€ Though Jean has a better-matching constellation in the shape of a lion, Lyney is by far a more typical Leo.

Virgo – Jean

Virgos are the hardworking, strong, detail-oriented matriarchs of society, and Jean fits that bill quite well. She is an impeccable leader, and though her constellation Leo Minor has little to do with a virgin, Jean embodies the spirit of Virgo.

Libra – Ningguang

As a Libra, Ningguang weighs every decision carefully before acting. She aims for fairness in upholding every law and contract. Ningguang also values interpersonal relationships though, as is evidenced by her close ties to Beidou.

Scorpio – Childe

Scorpios are fierce, intense, and deeply curious. Tartaglia ā€œChildeā€ is just about the fiercest character we have in Genshin Impact, with an insatiable thirst for combat. There are multiple facets to him though, and he can turn from a hardened warrior to a kind older brother as the occasion demands.

Sagittarius – Aloy

Okay, okay, Aloy isnā€™t technically from Genshin. Sheā€™s a crossover character from the Horizon franchise. Still, Aloy is a very good example of a Sagittarius. Sheā€™s a discoverer, embarking on a journey to find out the truth behind her origins. On top of this, her constellation Nora Fortis is in the shape of a bow and arrow.

Capricorn – Ganyu

Ganyu is a hard-working Capricorn. She is practical, pragmatic, disciplined, and devoted to her millenia-old contract with Rex Lapis. Her constellation Sinae Unicornis depicts a qilin, which in the world of Teyvat sports goat-like horns.

Aquarius – Barbara/Baizhu

Aquarians seek to help others. They are kind and friendly, and often take on a leadership role in their quest to make the world a better place. Both Barbara and Baizhu fit this description as well-known healers in their respective cities. In addition, Barbaraā€™s constellation Crater (ā€œcupā€) and Baizhuā€™s constellation Lagenaria (ā€œgourdā€) are both vessels for water.

Pisces – Kokomi

Pisces are often in tune with their own emotions as well as those of others. Kokomi exemplifies this ideal by keeping meticulous tabs on her mental state while trying to care for the needs of her people. As the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, Kokomi is a spiritual leader as well as a political one.
