Supersize rodent

Capybaras are the critter that live in the Wild Tangle on Eternity Isle, which is accessed as part of the Rift in Time DLC. In real life, Capybaras are the largest known species of rodent in the world, with close ties to more commonplace animals like rats and hamsters. This information can be very useful with it comes to figuring out what to feed them, but they do have their own specific tastes.

If you’ve ever had a pet mouse, rat, or guinea pig, then you’ll likely have a good understanding of their recommended diet, which will go a long way in determining what a Capybara wants to chow down on. It’s usually a basic diet of vegetables and plants, which also goes for Capybaras in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Loved food:

A Capybara’s favorite food is Cabbage, which is a type of crop that can be purchased either ready to use or in seed form from Goofy’s Stall in the Wild Tangle. Ready to use, a single Cabbage will cost 256 Star Coins. If you want to save some money and grow your own, seeds can be purchased for 150 Star Coins, with the resulting Cabbage needing to be watered twice and ready to pick after one hour.

Feeding a Capybara a Cabbage can result in any of the following items being dropped:

  • 1 Dream Shard
  • 1 Memory Bag
  • 1 Motif Bag

Liked foods:

Unlike the single option for loved food, Capybaras have a long list of foods that they will eat, but will not result in the possibility of a Motif Bag being dropped, and can instead drop Bamboo. These are liked foods, and the list is made up of Grains, Herbs & Spices, Vegetables, and fruits grown from seeds

All critters in Disney Dreamlight Valley must be approached in specific ways before you can feed them. Some must be crept up on while they’re not looking, while others prefer to make you chase them.

Thankfully, Capybaras are one of the easiest and most laid-back critters, and you don’t need to play any games to provide them with food. Simply walk directly up to them and interact with them, and they’ll gladly take whatever food you’re willing to give.
