What are Supercharged Slots in No Man’s Sky

More power!

A Supercharged Slot in No Manā€™s Sky refers to a technology inventory slot in No Manā€™s Sky that is capable of increasing the stats of any technology installed on it. If a technology that provides stat buffs is installed on a Supercharged Slot in No Manā€™s Sky, players would receive an increase on top of the base stats provided by the technology.Ā

Supercharged Slots

Supercharged Slots are quite useful, and are generally used to increase the stats of S-class or X-class technologies since they provide the most stat boost in the game.

You can find Supercharged Slots in Exosuit, Multi-Tool, Starships, and Freighter technology inventory. Given the capability of a Supercharged Slot to give players more stats than the technology offers at its base level, there are some limitations present, which challenge players to organise their installed technology more thoughtfully. Supercharged Slots cannot be moved, and they have a fixed position in each inventory which is randomly decided.

How many Supercharged Slots are in Starships, Multi-Tools, and Freighters

Here are the number of Supercharged Slots available in No Manā€™s Sky for Starships, Multi-Tools, and Freighters, based on the class:

While Exosuits are always going to have three Supercharged Slots, the number of Supercharged Slots for Starships, Freighter, and Multi-Tool depends upon the respective quality of these vehicles and tools.Ā

  • Class C – 1 Supercharged Slot
  • Class B – 2 Supercharged Slots
  • Class A – 3 Supercharged Slots
  • Class S – 4 Supercharged Slots

When players upgrade the class of Starship, Multi-Tool, or Freighter, additional Supercharged Slots can be unlocked. So if you upgrade a Class C Starship, it will then have two Supercharged Slots instead of one.

How to unlock Supercharged Slots

Since the positioning of the Supercharged Slots is random, they might sometimes be hidden behind a locked inventory slot. You need to unlock technology slots in order to reveal the Supercharged Slots in those cases.

The basic technology inventory slots are white/grey by default, whereas Supercharged Slots are purple, helping players to differentiate between them.Ā There is no separate process for unlocking Supercharged Slots, they are unlocked the same way as normal inventory slots are unlocked.
