What are Augur mods in Warframe?

What Secrets is Augur hiding?

As if mods in Warframe weren’t confusing enough, there are several groups that mods can belong to. Take Umbral mods for example, which are acquired through completing The Sacrifice main story quest. These mods are fine on their own, but when used in the same frame or melee weapon, are utterly devastating. One such group of mods can be just as confusing. Here’s what Augur mods are in Warframe.

What do Augur mods do in Warframe?

Augur mods are mods exclusively acquired from Plains of Eidolon bounties on a random chance. These mods are rather weak on the surface, with the max rank of something like Augur Secrets only providing 24% Ability Strength.

However, they come into play when you have multiple Augur mods on the same piece of equipment. Each Augur mod on a frame will cause 40% of Energy spent on abilities to convert into Shields. This maxes out at six mods, with 240% Energy being converted to Shields. You can stack this with the mod Brief Respite to hit a maximum of 390% Energy converted to Shields if you want a gigantic shield for one reason or another.

All Augur mods and their effects (at max rank) are as follows:

  • Augur Pact – 90% Damage
  • Augur Message – 24% Ability Duration
  • Augur Reach – 30% Ability Range
  • Augur Accord – 70% Shield Capacity
  • Augur Seeker – 90% Status Duration
  • Augur Secrets – 24% Ability Strength

Are the Augur mods worth using?

With all that said, there are only a few cases where multiple Augur mods can make sense. The increased Shields are nice, but you lose a lot of power by having the mods in the first place. The main reason to take Augur mods is to further a particular stat you’re going for. While not in my current build, Augur Secrets was quite useful on Wisp for me, due to adding that little bonus to Wisp’s motes.
