You can’t blame Nintendo for going back to the well when the well is one hundred meters of unmitigated excellence. That’s why the Nintendo levels of the Wario Ware titles have always been the best; tuggin’ on the nostalgia-strings of gamers everywhere. This video of the Nintendo level from Wario Ware: Smooth Moves has me utterly sold on the game, as if I needed any help.
Star Fox, Metroid Prime, even Game & Watch and a slew of others — all accounted for. There’s even a microgame that has you pulling the Master Sword itself from the Temple of Time, complete with horrible, muddy N64 graphics! What’s truly remarkable about this string of microgames is the recreation of several games spanning multiple generations of Nintendo console gaming, almost indistinguishable from their original counterparts. It’s a nostalgixplosion .
Good God, I’m such a whore for this stuff. Wario Ware: Smooth Moves hits the Wii on January 15th.
