While playing through The First Descendant, you’ll find plenty of different activities to keep you busy for a while. You could complete main missions and make progress in the story, explore the world and find all sorts of secrets, or take on powerful bosses through one specific mode.
Speaking of said mode, there’s plenty of appeal here given some of its possible rewards and arena spectacle. Here’s what a Void Intercept Battle is in The First Descendant.
What are Void Intercept Battles in The First Descendant?
Void Intercept Battles are larger boss battles that can be taken on and farmed as you wish. These battles each feature different ways to take down a target, starting with the Grave Walker fought twice during the earlier main missions. These can be taken on in a private group of you and up to three friends, or matchmade with other random players. To access Void Intercept Battles, you need to speak with Seneca who can be found straight ahead after you spawn in the hub world of Albion. Speak with him and select the Void Intercept Battle (Normal) unless you’re much further along, then select the appropriate unlocked Void Intercept Battle.
Once you take down the boss, you’ll receive a ton of loot ranging from supplies to different pieces of gear you can either use or scrap. What you’ll likely care about most however is the Reconstructed Device located at the boss’ death spot. Interacting with this lets you use the Anomalous Material you received from defeating the boss to roll for a part of a piece of gear you’re working on researching. The possible drops for these can be found on the screen just before queueing up for a Private or Public Intercept.
Should you farm Void Intercept Battles?
While there aren’t a lot of reasons to early, farming up Void Intercept Battles is the easiest way to get parts for Descendants and new pieces of gear. It will become a cornerstone of the game for you, so any farming you do early will save you time later. If you’re bored, run a few and see what you get.
