You don’t need a gym when you have a 3DS and elliptical machine, I’ve realized in recent months. Playing Fire Emblem while working my calfs is both great fun and great fitness, yet my mind has been wondering what else is out there. The Virtuix Omni is out there.

The Omni (by Virtuix) is a full-body enclosed interface that is to be paired with virtual reality. It’s kind of like a crazier, state-of-the-art version of the Sega Activator or those goofy machines you’d find at Six Flags in the ’90s. The latest Omni demo shows an intense match of Team Fortress 2 amplified by the combination of Oculus Rift virtual reality gear.

If you have interest in owning such an elaborate, high tech workout setup, stay tuned for an upcoming Kickstarter teased on Virtuix’s website. Or, you join me and Dale North by picking up your 3DS next time you are at the gym.
