Mysteries still await
The Swansong will be coming a little bit later on. Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong has set a new launch window of Feb. 2022, pushed back from its original target of this year.
Announced during today’s Nacon Connect stream, the narrative adventure from The Council developer Big Bad Wolf is taking a little extra time. While we caught a glimpse of beta gameplay footage today, similar to another recent trailer, it looks like it’ll be a while longer until we can play through it ourselves.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is set in the city of Boston, and follows three playable characters as their stories shape the fate of the city. Today’s trailer showcased Galeb, an ancient vampire who’s amassed wealth and power, though he’s still looking for something.
This is also a separate project from Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, which lost its developer and has been pushed out of 2021. With Swansong taking a little extra time for development, it looks like my hopes for some Vampire: The Masquerade narrative fun in 2021 are shot. Time to re-install Bloodlines.
