Sharks are on my mind today. Specifically those in video games. I mean, who doesnāt love sharks?
They really donāt get the appreciation they deserve, but video games have some fantastic shark representation. From the deadliest to the friendliest, here are some of the best fish around.
10. King Shark (Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League)
To be honest, I have not played this game, but I do love King Shark. His movie counterpart might be my favorite shark character ever. Heās fun and deadly. But I have to say, this is maybe the worst version of him.
Heās more edgy and dulled. And as a shark, he uses guns instead of, you know, eating people. Iād rank him higher if he wasnāt attached to this game.
9. Bloody Shark (Yakuza 6)
Yes, there is a boss fight that is just a huge shark in a Yakuza 6 minigame. Kazuma Kiryu is a spear fisherman who can go up against the meanest. I mean, I donāt have much else to add ā it is just a bloody shark.
It tries to eat Kiryu and then gets harpooned to death. Oh, it also deploys sea mines somehow. Watch the boss fight, it speaks for itself.
8. Neptune (Resident Evil)
I donāt think sharks should ever be used as bioweapons, but I have to admit there is something about Neptunes that I love. And I think it is how gnarly they look.
In the Remake, they even included a huge Neptune mother which will instantly eat you if you don’t drain the tank. Watching that shark die was pretty sad for me, though.
7. Snaggles (Donkey Kong Country)
Snaggles is a really underappreciated shark. Adorable and dangerous, Snaggles are sharks litter throughout the newer Donkey Kong Country games.
Theyāre simple but effective in design, and like most enemies in the game, he is animated beautifully and comes in all sorts of colors and sizes. I want a plushie of him so badly! And with Donkey Kong Country Returns HD coming up, now is the perfect time to appreciate Snaggles.
6. Gran Bruce (Viewtiful Joe)
An agent of Jadow, this aquatic boss is probably the funniest looking on this list. Look at those little legs, so cute!
Heās a big airhead and will chomp you if you jump in the water or just insult you. Not a very nice shark but a cleverly designed one.
5. Specter (Arknights)
A shark nun hunter with a chainsaw. What more could you want? I personally would love more shark fins, but this aquatic Abyssal Hunter is just as scary as one.
Oripathy, which is basically magic rock cancer in the world of Arknights, has made her act as a killer nun. She’s a fan favorite, and I see why. That tattered nun-shark outfit is jaw-some.
4. Terrafin (Skylanders)
I used to play so much Skylanders back in the day, and one of my favorites has always been the iron-knuckle-wearing Terrafin. A brutish but cute-looking land-shark, Terrafin is a wonderful shark design.
He burrows under the ground and pops up to chomp and punch anyone above him. Did you know he used to be a lifeguard? Now you do.
3. Ellen Joe (Zenless Zone Zero)
A housekeeper and student with a shark tail and sharp teeth, Ellen Joe is a newcomer to the shark club from Zenless Zone Zero. Similar to most sharks, sheās pretty laid back but gets pretty annoyed if they try to touch her tail or get in the way of food.
Iām a big fan of her huge tail and sharp teeth, but I wish her attacks had more to do with being a shark. She fights with mostly ice and her super is a huge chomp, but not much besides that.
2. Sharpedo (Pokemon)
Its name is a bit on the nose, but Sharppedo is an excellent-looking Pokemon. Dare I say, great-looking shark. How do they go so fast? By swallowing water and spewing it out their behind, of course.Ā
As deadly as a shark and as fast as a torpedo, Sharpedo may not be the most meta of Pokemon, but heās still a fan-favorite for good reason: he just looks cool. And his mega evolution is just the icing on the cake.
1. Prince Sidon (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)
The Zora all have great aquatic animal designs, but Sidon is probably the best one yet. The moment I saw his glorious smile, he became one of my favorite Zelda characters.
First of all, he has the looks with his sweet fins and his signature toothy smile. He can swim as fast as a shark too! Not only that, but he is incredibly friendly and a partner anyone would love to rely on. His heart is in the right place.
