If you live long enough, you soon learn that some things in the universe seem to happen with acute regularity. For instance, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears always find themselves as the top story on some network during the week for doing God knows what. The girl next door is never as shy and reserved as you once thought, and Tomonobu Itagaki of Team Ninja will inevitably open his mouth and give us all a new amusing sound byte to digest. Label it as you may. For us, it’s just the cycle of life in action. Below, you’ll find another example of that.
When asked about whether or not he was looking forward to Tekken 6 on the PlayStation 3, he blurted out without hesitation: “It sucks. I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Later on during the interview, he also named the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo DS as his favorite systems of this generation. However, it may be the last tidbit of information that may raise the most eyebrows.
Thanks in part to his children, Itagaki seems to be at least be musing over the thought of Ninja Gaiden on the Wii:
We’re doing a lot of research, that’s about all I can say right now. Although, to add on that note, my kids have been saying they want a game for the Wii. To tell you the truth, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword, that’s because my kids were asking for one of my titles to be on the DS.
Nintendo fans must be doing backflips knowing that they have some special friends with the ability to influence Itagaki on their side. Namco Bandai, however, may not be so enthused over the interview.
