The Tokyo Game Show 2021 is drawing closer, as the online event kicks off on Sept. 30. And while it’s a little while away, today the event confirmed its streaming schedule lineup, which includes a few notable names.

Konami: Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. JST

Square Enix and Xbox jump out right away as potentially newsworthy streams. Square Enix still has Guardians of the Galaxy coming later this year, and Xbox says it has some “exclusive news and content to share,” though that could also just easily be Game Pass announcements rather than a look at anything big.
Since we’re nearing the end of the year, 2022 is starting to loom large on the horizon. Tokyo Game Show has been a place where publishers like Square Enix have confirmed spring dates in the past, but the current global climate still means game dates can shift around at a moment’s notice. And if nothing else, the show will also have a virtual reality component, which the site advertises as letting you “see your favorite characters right in front of you.” Technology is truly magical.
We’ll see what the big names have in store for the show at the end of the month.
