Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon KeepĀ is one of, if not the most, well-remembered DLC additions in theĀ BorderlandsĀ series. It was popular enough that Gearbox is currently working on a full game spiritual successor, and today,Ā Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon KeepĀ is also getting a standalone version.

2K and Gearbox announced today that a standalone calledĀ Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot AdventureĀ is coming to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic. And it’s available today, too.

As part of the launch,Ā Assault on Dragon KeepĀ is free on the Epic Games Store until Nov. 16, so roughly the next week. Otherwise, it’s going for $9.99 on the other storefronts.

Even as someone with a hot-and-cold relationship with theĀ BorderlandsĀ franchise,Ā Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon KeepĀ is a standout to me. It was impressive back in 2013, when it arrived as DLC forĀ Borderlands 2. Not just for itsĀ Dungeons & DragonsĀ referencing, mind you, but for how it tackled one of the big story developments inĀ Borderlands 2, and how that affected its characters.Ā Borderlands 2Ā in particular hit a high note for me with how it tackled some tougher material, and I likedĀ Dragon KeepĀ for how it kept that through-line going.

That said, it’s also an entire DLC featuring Tiny Tina. For some folks, that’s a deal-breaker. But hey, if you wanted to give it a shot and see if BorderlandsĀ meetsĀ D&DĀ works for you, this is probably the best opportunity to do it. Plus, it ends up now acting as a predecessor to the upcomingĀ Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. If you want to know how it all ties together, and learn a littleĀ BorderlandsĀ history in the process, seems like a good opportunity to do so.
