Throne and Liberty rain schedule and timer explained

That's a lot of rain.

Rain affects multiple aspects of Throne and Liberty’s gameplay mechanics, from unlocking certain dungeons to buffing particular spell types. However, much like the real world, it’s difficult to perfectly predict when it’ll rain, especially since the in-game schedule doesn’t tell you about it.

Throne and Liberty’s rain schedule changes daily, making it difficult to predict its precise times. While you might encounter rain at a particular time on one day, you might log on 24 hours later and see sunny skies for several hours. The schedule can also differ slightly depending on your server. However, they’re mostly the same, with some minor differences occasionally.

For example, here’s the rain schedule for October 11 and October 12, 2024, on NA – East servers, according to Questlog.gg:

October 11 timesOctober 12 times
16:15 p.m. ET00:15 a.m. ET
16:45 p.m. ET03:45 a.m. ET
19:15 p.m. ET04:15 a.m. ET
19:45 p.m. ET07:15 a.m. ET
20:45 p.m. ET09:15 a.m. ET
22:45 p.m. ET10:15 a.m. ET
23:15 p.m. ET10:45 a.m. ET
12:15 p.m. ET
12:45 p.m. ET
13:15 p.m. ET
14:15 p.m. ET

While most servers will have similar rain start times, some may be off by 15 minutes or upwards of an hour. Nonetheless, you can expect it to rain several times a day on your server, making it difficult to miss unless you’re on during a three-hour dry period.

A pattern you may notice with the times is their consistent 15-minute and 45-minute times. If your server is approaching quarter after or quarter to an hour, it’s worth sticking around for a few extra minutes to see if it starts raining. Otherwise, you can run around and complete other quests or take a short break before returning and rechecking the time.

What does rain do in Throne and Liberty?

Rain is an essential mechanic in Throne and Liberty if you like dungeon runs. One particular dungeon, Sanctum of Desire, opens only while it’s raining, making it a limited-time area that can take hours to access, depending on the current schedule.

Many weapon skills, particularly lightning attacks for the staff, also get major buffs while it’s raining. For several lightning spells, applying wet or frost status ailments will cause them to have greater AoE effects, transferring damage to nearby monsters in a certain radius. Frenzied Lightning Wave, Chain Thunder, and Judgment Lightning are the most notable spells that benefit from this, but it isn’t limited to these three.

Lastly, aspiring chefs can enjoy higher plant qualities while it rains. Particular herbs will turn into blooming variants while it’s raining, raising their quality and increasing the odds of creating a higher-value dish while cooking. In other words, if you want to make delicious food with solid buffs, going for an herb run in the middle of rainy weather can help.
