Throne and Liberty: A Goblin’s Important Job quest guide

That's an odd place to build a house.

Usually, when you think about quests in an MMO, you imagine helping out fellow townies or heroes and performing good deeds. However, in Throne and Liberty, you’ll occasionally help characters that many would deem evil, with A Goblin’s Important Job being one of the game’s first examples.

How to complete the A Goblin’s Important Job quest in Throne and Liberty

There are three parts to completing the A Goblin’s Important Job quest in Throne and Liberty:

  1. Talk to the Goblin Lich at Old Goblin Town.
  2. Control the Drainage Device to help the Goblin Lich.
  3. Talk to the Goblin Lich at Old Goblin Town.

Talk to the Goblin Lich at Old Goblin Town

To start this quest, you’ll have to enter Carmine Forest directly north of the Starlight Observatory Ruins and find Old Goblin Town. You’ll spot the Goblin Lich standing next to a hut submerged in water.

However, rather than being upset about this, he just remarks that he’s cleaning his ancestors’ gravestones and asks if you want to help. As odd as this is, it’s an MMO quest at the end of the day, so we have to do it.

Control the Drainage Device

Next to Lich, you’ll spot four drainage devices that control how much water is around the hut. However, while this might seem like a complicated puzzle, it’s simpler than it looks. Your goal is to spam your interact button on one of the devices as much as possible, with Lich cheering you on until the hut is clear of water. It doesn’t matter what the weather is as long as you continuously use the devices.

Why are there four drainage devices, then? The most likely reason is so other players can interact with them. Multiple people can contribute to this part of the Goblin’s Important Job quest and make the drainage go faster.

Talk to the Goblin Lich at Old Goblin Town

Once you clear the water around the hut, the Goblin Lich will go down and continue cleaning his ancestors’ gravestones. Talk to him one more time to wrap up the quest, allowing you to claim your Sollant, recovery crystals, and Growthstones.
