In February of 2007, I wrote a story entitled “Bioshock coming to the PS3? No. Maybe. Probably. Yes!“. Within hours, we were contacted by 2K Games who answered that question with a firm “no.” But rumors continued to persist, and in November 2007, Jim Sterling reported that an official moderator on the 2K forums said “There will be no PS3 version of BioShock. It has been explained time and time again.”
And that was that. The 2007 Game of the Year, and Xbox 360 and PC exclusive BioShock is never coming to Sony’s console. Forget about it.
Wait, no … don’t forget about it! Because according to the rumors in the latest Electronic Gaming Monthly, BioShock is coming to the PS3 later this year with the extras the other versions got post-release. And today, word comes that the latest issue of UK magazine PSM3 will contain information and screenshots on the forthcoming version of BioShock for the PS3.
2K’s not talking, but I think it’s pretty safe to say PS3 owners will have the chance to dive into the underwater city of Rapture later this year. They should be excited; I hear the game is pretty good.

[Update: There was really no question about it, but this has now been confirmed. The upcoming issue of EGM will have the full scoop on the game, as well as an interview with the sequel’s creative director, Jordan Thomas.]
