Your move, Koei Tecmo
If the wait for Koei Tecmo’s Attack on Titan game is too long for you, and you’ve already played Fenglee’s awesome fangame to death as I have, developer Guedin’s got you covered.
Guedin has released the first playable alpha and a new video of their fantastic looking Attack on Titan fangame. Right now the beta is simply a tutorial to get to grips with the 3D Maneuver Gear (zippy grappling hook) mechanics, and there aren’t any actual titans to fight, but even then what there is right now is massively impressive.
The movement seems way more fluid than Koei Tecmo’s game, and the art style is a bit more refined than Fenglee’s. From the tutorial, I found the combat a little bit tricky – I couldn’t kill the wooden dummy titan – but there’s obviously a lot of enthusiasm pumped into this project. I’m really excited to see where it goes from here!
The alpha is available to download on IndieDB and GameJolt, and other videos of the game in action are available on Guedin’s YouTube page.
