Halo: Fireteam Raven
The next chapter in the Halo series won’t be on Xbox One or Windows 10. It’ll be in the arcades. One specific arcade, that is.
During today’s Inside Xbox show, Microsoft announced Halo: Fireteam Raven — an arcade shooter that will only be at Dave & Busters. The machine has a 130-inch 4K screen with four turret-mounted machine guns for four-player cooperative play. Fireteam Raven is being developed by Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix; it’s said to be a “close collaboration” with main Halo developer 343 Industries.
While it’s not the conventional Halo experience, Fireteam Raven plays a tangential role in the series’ lore. This game takes place during the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. The titular Fireteam Raven are a group of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers who fight alongside Master Chief and the UNSC on the surface of Alpha Halo.
Halo: Fireteam Raven will debut at Dave & Busters in the United States and Canada sometime this summer. Later in the fall, it’ll expand to other international Dave & Busters locations. If you’re looking for a better steak in an arcade setting, you are shit out of luck. Just make sure to load up your Power Card with plenty of digital quarters.
