The striking new image features the series’ main characters ā€” Naofumi, Raphtalia, Filo, Atla, and Fohl ā€” gazing off into the distance, which sends a rather ominous message.

While the release date for the sequel remains under wraps, it has been confirmed that Season 4 will stream on Crunchyroll. Fans can look forward to more updates and reveals in the coming months.

Season 3 of The Rising of the Shield Hero sees Naofumi being returned to Melromarc, after once again being transported to a new world. Upon his return, however, Naofumi discovers that the other three cardinal heroes ā€” Sword, Spear, and Bow ā€” are missing. Tasked with finding these heroes before the next world-threatening danger, the Phoenix, awakens, Naofumi sets out on a new mission. While searching for his supposed comrades, Naofumi also dedicates himself to rescuing demi-human slaves, providing them with a safe haven.

Just in time before the Phoenix’s arrival, the four heroes have finally united under Naofumi’s wing by the end of Season 3. However, Naofumi’s preparations are still not over. Before facing the Phoneix, he still has to settle the matter of Raphtalia’s lineage. As such, the Season 3 finale also sees him, along with his trusty aides, planning to go to Siltvelt, where they will catch a ride to Q’ten Lo.
