Metroid meets Katamari?

Game Freak, the developer of the Pokémon franchise, has just released a new 2D puzzle-platforming action game (metroidvania?) on Steam Early Access called Giga Wrecker. Skimming the game’s listing, it looks like the full version is planned to launch in January of next year, with the current build lasting around an hour and a half for $15.

You play as a cyborg girl, who has the power to reconstruct debris and scraps into various weapons which you use to fight robots and solve puzzles. So Katamari Damacy meets Metroid and or Mega Man, depending on how linear it is. Could be fun, just like Game Freak’s previous Steam game, Tembo the Badass Elephant.
