Where to find the Iris of Occultation

To get the Iris of Occultation, you will need to visit the Fort of Reprimand, where it can be found in the dungeon. When you arrive at the Fort, go in the main gate and take out the enemy in the courtyard. Look to the left and you will see a recess in the fort wall. This is a chute that you can use to drop down into the basement. There will be some enemies down here that you can take out. One of them will drop the Irish of Occultation. Thankfully, this one is much easier to get than its counterpart, the Iris of Grace.

What is the Iris of Occultation

Just like the other Iris items, the Irish of Occultation is a consumable that will act similarly to Rune Arc. And, just like those other items, this is definitely the way you should use it. Save the Iris for a character called Queelign, who can be found in the Prayer Room of the Shadow Keep, or you can also give it to another character called Jolan during another questline.

You can trade the Iris items to them for the following items, and you can get both items if you find both the Grace and Occultation Iris.

  • Queelign – Fire Knight Queelign Spirit Ash
  • Jolan – Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash.

How to get to Fort of Reprimand

After making your way through Castle Ensis you will come out to the other side at the Highroad Cross Site of Grace, where Needle Knight Leda can be found. There is a small drop to the east and then a road that runs south. Take this road until you come to a drake that is fighting lots of enemies. You can either kill the drake or try to get past it without fighting if you wish. Behind the drake at the end of the road is a tunnel that leads through the cliff and comes out the other side at the Fort of Reprimand.

In-game lore

“An iris that is as dark as night. Place on the eye of another to deny them light in all its forms. Can also be used to receive the blessing of an equipped Great Rune, at the cost of all runes currently held. In the realm of Shadow, this artifice was employed by the priests of the Erdtree to intensify the fears of their flock to magnificent effect.”
