There are odd little quest items strewn all around Elden Ring, and some of them are quite deceptive. They might look like something that you can just use yourself, but then an NPC will go without and you don’t know what the consequences of that might be. If you are looking for the Iris of Grace or have found it already, you should hold on to it. If you haven’t found it yet, this is where to find it.
Where to find the Iris of Grace
The Iris of Grace can be found in the Shadow Keep, deep in the disgusting labs beneath the storeroom. Starting from the Storehouse, First Floor Site of Grace, make your way through the first arch to the left of the large altar and “sample” in front of you and take the elevator in front of you down.
When you get to the bottom, take the first right, but be prepared for a little bit of a scare. A rather disturbing enemy is about to be introduced to you. Take it out, then continue down the corridor from the right turn.
At the end of that corridor, turn left, and you will have the option to either continue on or take the stairs down on the right side. Take that stairs down after you deal with the next enemy, called an Innard. Down the stairs, you will find two more of them, and then you can take a left into a large room filled with enemies. There are some mini pots here, as well as more Innards.
Take them all out, and at the end of the room on the left, you will find the Iris of Grace near a low cabinet. There are more items scattered around, so grab them before you leave.
What is the Iris of Grace
The Iris of Grace is a consumable that will act just like a Rune Arc. This is definitely NOT what you should use it for, however. Save the Iris for a character called Queelign, who can be found in the Prayer Room of the Shadow Keep. You can also give it to another character called Jolan during another questline. (Don’t worry; I will have guides for all these folks as soon as I can.)
You can trade it to them for the following items
- Queelign – Fire Knight Queelign Spirit Ash
- Jolan – Swordhand of Night Jolan Spirit Ash.
In-game lore
“An iris blessed with an incantation of the Erdtree. Place on the eye of another to grant them the light of grace as a fleeing blessing. Can also be used to receive the blessing of an equipped Great Rune. In the realm of shadow, this artifice was employed by the priests of the Erdtree to quell the fears of their flock to magnificent effect.”
