Starward Industries has announced a new sci-fi adventure title, which is currently in development at the Polish studio for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X. The Invincible is an intergalactic first-person thriller, inspired by the 1964 novel from renowned author Stanislaw Lem.

In The Invincible, players will take up the role of an interstellar scientist, who wakes up on the planet Regis III to find their entire crew missing. Using retro-futuristic technology and keen wits, it is up to the protagonist to search for and discover the fates of their missing crew members, while surviving the increasingly hostile environment of Regis III and its occupants. It will soon become clear that you are most certainly not alone…

The Invincible, which has been secretly in the making for some time, combines a fascinating setting, iconic story and an established non-linear gameplay to deliver a truly unforgettable experience,” said Starward Industries Marek Markuszewski in a press release. “The studio believes in the power of interactive storytelling, and wants to engage gamers of all skill levels in crafting their own paths in the peculiar world of a distant, malevolent planet”.

Prior to founding Starward Industries, Markuszewski was a senior producer at CD Projekt RED. With Markuszewski – and various other Starward team members – having worked on titles such as The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, the pedigree is there for The Invincible to prove a deep, atmospheric, and thoroughly immersive adventure.

The Invincible is expected to launch in 2021 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X.
