The First Descendant: Infiltrate Zone Recon Mission guide and tips

A cool infiltration mission, with some major caveats.

Most of the missions across The First Descendant are fairly simple. You go to a location, kill a bunch of enemies, maybe stand in a specific spot, and you’re done. Zone Recon missions are fairly simple, though they have a secret in the form of an Infiltrate bonus objective. This is surprisingly difficult, though comes with some hard truths. Here’s how to complete the Infiltrate bonus objective in Zone Recon missions in The First Descendant.

Before we begin, you need to know the hard truth that the Infiltrate bonus mission objective is basically impossible without owning Sharen. They are technically possible, but require the stars to align with enemy patrol routes in such a tight manner that you’ll be waiting ages just to reach one of the three objectives, let alone hack it without enemies seeing you. Until you own Sharen, it’s best that you run these missions with Bunny equipped with Skill-related Modules so that her AoE abilities can deal with both the power generators and enemy forces.

If you do have Sharen however, these missions become a cakewalk. To do them, simply slap some Skill Duration Modules onto her, then enter the area using her Active Camouflage ability. Provided you’re cautious with its energy bar and back away when you’re getting low, you can essentially walk it in. It is a little silly and unfortunate that you need Sharen to do these missions, but once you have her, you can run this back-to-back on those five-minute timers.

What do you get for completing the Infiltrate bonus objective?

Completing these Infiltrate missions can give you very strong rewards, meant for acquiring more powerful gear. As one example, the Zone Recon mission in Kingston’s Fallen Theater provides a Shape Stabilizer Form and an Anomalous Material as possible rewards. Under the right conditions, these are well worth farming.
