The COR-45 has a faster TTK than every SMG in Warzone, but there’s a catch

Good, but only in the right hands.

While searching for the next best close-range meta weapon in Warzone, players stumbled across the COR-45, which has all the characteristics of a must-use gun. In saying that, there is more to this pistol than meets the eye.

In Season 3, the HRM-9 is regarded as the best weapon in Warzone for close-range engagements. The Rennetti JAK Ferocity Carbine held that mantle briefly after the most recent seasonal update. However, that run of dominance didn’t last long, as Raven Software stepped in and dropped a massive nerf for the pistol. Players set out to find a new weapon to fill that void, and that’s where the COR-45 comes in. With the XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit equipped, the COR-45 has a time-to-kill speed of 525 milliseconds, which is the fastest for SMGs.

For comparison, the HRM-9 has a TTK speed of 613 milliseconds. Time-to-kill is arguably the most important stat to consider when comparing weapons used for short-range engagements because every second matters and the faster weapon usually prevails. But in this case, that stat is deceiving because the conversion kit makes the pistol a burst weapon, meaning it fires one shot when holding the trigger down and another after letting go. If players can master the unique pistol (and its shooting style), they will dominate Warzone, but that TTK stat doesn’t take into account the weapon being semi-fire.

Best COR-45 loadout in Warzone

With that all being said, the COR-45 is still an excellent weapon, so we made the best possible loadout for Season 3.

  • Muzzle: Zehmn35 Compensated Flash Hider
  • Stock: DR-6 Handstop
  • Magazine: 40 Round Drum
  • Rear Grip: Granular Grip
  • Conversion Kit: XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit

It all starts with the XRK IP-V2 Conversion Kit, which improves the pistol’s rate of fire by 100 percent, bullet velocity by 40 percent, damage range by 30 percent, and horizontal recoil by 69.8 percent at the cost of mobility.

Despite horizontal recoil improving, this pistol still suffers from a hard-to-control recoil pattern. So, we opted to use the Granular GripDR-6 Handstop, and Zehmn35 Compensated Flash Hider because all three attachments help with recoil control and gunkick. With all three attachments working in unison, there should be no issue taking on any gunfight up to 25 meters away.
