Ah, Mega Man 7. By the time it came out in 1995, there were some who thought that the classic formula had already been outdone by the Mega Man X games. They were right! But Mega Man 7 does have some good SNES charm.
Note that, unlike earlier Mega Man titles, Mega Man 7 splits the bosses into two groups. After you finish the intro stage, youāre given a group of four robot masters to take on. After theyāre defeated, you get the next four. As is typical with these games, you want to cut a path that takes advantage of their weaknesses. With that in mind, hereās my suggested order.
First four
- Burst Man
- Cloud Man
- Junk Man
- Freeze Man
Burst Man is weak against the Flame Wheel, which you donāt get until you defeat Turbo Man in the next tier. However, the charged buster shot is useful in his battle, which makes him a good starting point among the bosses. The Freeze Cracker is also effective but doesnāt deal additional damage.
Second four
- Slash Man
- Spring Man
- Shade Man
- Turbo Man
While you can deviate from the order of the first four bosses if you want to, the second group is more clear-cut. Thatās because Slash Man is weak against the Freeze Cracker, a weapon you obtain through defeating the first group. If you choose any of the other three, youāre going to be mostly relying on your buster, which you can definitely pull off (I believe in you), but weāre talking the optimal route here.
Also, note that each listed Robot Master is weak against the weapon of the one listed above it. That is aside from Burst Man, who wraps back to Turbo Manās Flame Wheel. Poor guy. This will help you when you face off against the bosses again in Wilyās Castle.
