Insight Editions is publishing The Art of Blizzard, a 352-page hardcover book which spans twenty years of history at the studio behind Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo.

It features “nearly 800 pieces of concept art, paintings, and sketches,” with commentary provided by Blizzard’s own senior VP of story and franchise development Chris Metzen; senior art director Sam Didier; and VP of art and cinematic development Nick Carpenter.

The book isn’t due out until October, but pre-sales are going to be offered during San Diego Comic-Con this July 12 – 15. I also spotted The Art of Blizzard over on Amazon. Looking through the company’s old concept art, I’m reminded of how much I love the artwork for the early Warcraft games. Those were the days.
