At the end of today’s TFT Magic n’ Mayhem Tactician’s Crown Finals, Riot Games revealed its upcoming 13th set for Teamfight Tactics titled Into the Arcane. The new set coincides with the second season of the hit Netflix show Arcane which just debuted its second season on November 9. Into the Arcane will feature 11 TFT-exclusive champions from the show meaning they were created just for this set and do not exist outside of the Into the Arcane TFT set.
If an Arcane-themed TFT set seems familiar, that’s because the 6.5 mid-season set for Gizmos and Gadgets added Arcane character Silco. This time around, however, the entire Set mechanics, characters, and system seem to be built around Arcane which is pretty awesome. Alongside Silco, the Into the Arcane set roster includes Powder, Violet, Vander, Sevika, Smeech, and more.
Five new Traits are also making their debut in Into the Arcane, including the Shimmer-focused Chem-Baron. Here are all five new Traits coming with Set 13:
- Enforcer: Start combat with shields and damage amplification. The highest health enemy
units become WANTED, granting Attack Speed boosts upon their defeat. - Chem-Baron: Gain Shimmer after each player combat, with increased rewards during a
loss streak. Collect Shimmer to access the Black Market and choose powerful Illegal Items
that enhance your Chem-Barons. - Academy: Sponsored items provide bonuses to max Health and Damage Amp, which are
doubled for Academy units. - Firelight: Firelights dash every 6 seconds, attacking with infinite range while healing based
on the damage they’ve taken. - Family: Family members provide mutual support, reducing max Mana and enhancing
bonuses.
The Into the Arcane Set Mechanic is The Anomaly, a new gameplay feature that allows players to reroll bonuses and permanently transform one Champion per game. There are various buffs you can obtain from the Anomaly including power, tankiness, or added utility, as well as some Anomaly effects that offer a specialized unique effect for a Champion. There are over 50 Anomaly effects in total, and the Anomaly is encountered at Stage 4-6 meaning players can use the decision to shape and mold their end-game build.
While Cosmetics are always a big part of TFT Sets, there are some pretty special Arcane-specific ones coming in Into the Arcane. Fans of the Chibi Champions will be happy to see Chibi Firelight Ekko, Chibi Arcane Vi, and Chibi Arcane Caitlin. The Prestige cosmetic is Prestige Arcane Superfan Annie, which is pretty comical in its own regard. But the most interesting addition is the new Unbound Tactician cosmetic type, a new category of cosmetics that highlights champions at their peak power and offers are more darker tone alongside unique emotes, movement animations, and even splash art. The Unbound Tactician for Into the Arcane is Arcane Jinx Unbound, and is pretty sick looking.
The Teamfight Tactics Set 13 Into the Arcane starts on November 20, 2024. Those interested in checking it out before than can jump into the PBE when it starts up this week.
