We’re gonna need a bigger hub
Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 might have only just launched this morning, but it is already breaking Steam records, instantly setting the bar for the most consecutive players in a premium fighting game on the PC platform.
As noted by Steamdb, Street Fighter 6, within the early hours of the morning, hit a high of 65,873 concurrent players. While this doesn’t beat out the early-day success of free-to-play fighter MultiVersus, it does beat all full-price fighting games releases to date, toppling the previous king, Warner Bros.’ bloodlust scrapper Mortal Kombat 11, by just over 30,000 players.
Street Fighter 6, which officially launches today after a year of build-up, has received high accolades across the board, becoming one of the highest-rated fighting games of all time on review aggregate sites such as Metacritic. Capcom has achieved this level of praise by producing a feature-packed, great-looking, and rock-solid sequel, which has been delivered to PlayStation, PC, and Xbox players, and looks set to lead the charge into a bold new era of fighting titles currently set to ignite the scene.
Street Fighter 6 is available now on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox platforms. You can check out our review right here, as well as our opinion on which World Warriors should be heading to the roster in the future.
