On OpenCritic,Ā Starfield currently has an average score of 88/100, and a 94% critic recommendation rating.

On MetaCritic,Ā Starfield is sitting at 88/100 Metascore and generally favorable reviews.

Of course, let’s start with our own review. We gave Starfield a 10/10.

“I wasnā€™t sure if it could be done, but Bethesda has managed to raise the bar for sandbox games even higher. In the end,Ā StarfieldĀ is an epic sandbox open-world RPG with a beautifully immersive universe, a captivating story, and fun and compelling gameplay the whole way. Iā€™m so happy to have experiencedĀ Starfield organically, and I really hope you get to as well.”

StarfieldĀ was a truly special experience for me, which prompted the perfect score. It’s not often I’m itching to play more after completion, like I am withĀ Starfield.

Starfield Review Round Up

Here’s a round-up of some other reviews that dropped today forĀ Starfield:

GamesRadar+: 5/5 ā€” “With this kind of freedom ‘avoiding the main mission’ is the main mission.”

Forbes:Ā 9.5/10 ā€” “I really do love this game. Yes, Bethesda doesnā€™t match some of its peers in many places, but in part thatā€™s because itā€™s trying to do everything, all at once. But if you wanted a giant Bethesda RPG set in space with better combat and a whole lot of time to level and build things and explore and find secrets, yeah, this is it. They did it. Enjoy.”

IGN: 7/10 ā€” “Starfield has a lot of forces working against it, but eventually the allure of its expansive roleplaying quests and respectable combat make its gravitational pull difficult to resist.”

PC Gamer: 75/100 ā€” “Starfield shares plenty of DNA with Skyrim and Fallout 4, but ultimately falls short of both.”

GameSpot: 7/10 ā€” “Bethesda’s spacefaring adventure has its moments with impressive scale, satisfying combat, and some worthwhile side quests, but its shallow RPG systems and uninspired vision of the cosmos make for a journey that’s a mile wide, but an inch deep.”

Game Informer: 8.5/10 ā€” “Go in with the expectation that it will take some time to find your footing in such a vast gameplay space, and thereā€™s a universe well worth discovering here.”
